Illustration & Animation
Elevating our game.
With a new brand comes new opportunities to flex our creative muscles. And no better place to apply some fresh thinking than to our illustration and animation projects. Below are a few things to consider when producing content.
DON’T BE PREDICTABLE
If you are talking to an audience about “finances” or “affordability” you could show an image of a wallet or a stack of dollar bills. But that image may not accurately convey what you’re trying to get across about money in relation to the greater topic of obstacles.
FIND ANOTHER ANGLE
That’s where conceptual imagery comes in. Thinking abstractly leads to results that are “based on or relating to ideas or concepts” and are generally more interesting and memorable. So, instead of using a wallet as described above, you might create an illustration that demonstrates how an individual can achieve their goals and dreams because the fear of debt isn’t a barrier at ACE. A visual reference to currency in some way is likely necessary, but maybe not?
FIND THE RIGHT TIME AND PLACE
In illustration and animation, there is definitely a time and a place for literal imagery, so don’t avoid it across the board. As always, understanding what type of imagery to use must be determined by the characteristics and preferences of the audience, the delivery mechanism and the subject matter. Make sure it’s engaging and mission accomplished.
